Refund Policy

Refunds are conditional, not automatic.
Hiexam Pro is digital content delivered immediately on payment. By default all sales are final. We may grant a refund within 24 hours of purchase if all of the following conditions are met:
- Less than 24 hours have passed since checkout.
- You have answered fewer than 10 graded questions after subscribing (the free tier already covers 10 — anything beyond means you've used the Pro service).
- You have not previously received a refund from Hiexam.
- Your account does not show signs of automated scraping or bulk-fetch activity.
- You contact us by email — not via chargeback.
Refunds outside these conditions are at our sole discretion. We deny refunds based on "buyer's remorse" without specific service issue once content has been consumed.
Processing fees
Payment processors (Gumroad / Stripe / card networks) charge non-refundable transaction fees on every sale. When we issue a refund, those fees stay deducted. The refunded amount you receive equals the original purchase price, but our cost on a refund is approximately 10–12% of the transaction in fees we eat.
For this reason we reserve the right to deduct a payment-processor pass-through fee from the refunded amount where local law and the processor permit. In practice Gumroad's policy refunds in full; the fee is absorbed by us — but we may decline future refund requests if patterns suggest fee abuse.
How to request a refund
Email billing@hiexam.net within 24 hours of your purchase. Include:
- Your Gumroad transaction ID (in your receipt email)
- The email used at signup
- A specific reason — what didn't work for you
We respond within 24 hours and process approved refunds within 3 business days. We may ask follow-up questions before deciding.
Anti-abuse measures
- One refund per customer, lifetime. Tracked across email, IP, and device fingerprint.
- Account closed on refund. Pro access ends immediately; the account cannot be re-subscribed without manual review.
- Activity check. Accounts with bulk-fetch or scraping behavior — typically: more than 50 questions read in less than an hour, programmatic API access patterns, or automation signals — are not eligible.
- Family / duplicate accounts. Refund eligibility checks across email, IP, and device fingerprint to prevent rotation abuse.
You can always cancel without refund.
Cancellation is separate from refunds and incurs no fee on either side:
- Cancel from your account settings or Gumroad library at any time.
- Future billing stops immediately.
- Your Pro access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- No refund is issued for unused time in the current period.
Exception: billing errors
For duplicate charges or unauthorized transactions (your card was billed twice; someone other than you completed checkout), we'll investigate and refund regardless of the 24-hour window. Email billing@hiexam.net within 60 days with the transaction ID and proof.
Chargebacks: contact us first.
Filing a chargeback with your bank before emailing us results in:
- Immediate account termination with forfeit of any unused period.
- Permanent ban from Hiexam, tracked across email, IP, and device.
- Submission of full transaction logs and our terms to the dispute process; in most cases the chargeback is denied.
There is no scenario where a chargeback before emailing benefits you. We answer billing requests within 24 hours.
EU / UK customers
By proceeding to checkout and using the service, you expressly waive your statutory right of withdrawal under EU Directive 2011/83/EU Article 16(m) for digital content delivered before the cooling-off period ends. The 24-hour conditional refund above replaces and exceeds the implied statutory protection for unused subscriptions.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes apply prospectively only — any purchase you've already made is governed by the policy in effect at the time of purchase.
